Miss Rachel began her dancing career in London, England at age 3 where she took Ballet. After moving to the United States, she danced many years with Barbara Shepherd in Fairfax, Virginia at Barbara Shepherd's Academy of Dance. It was there she began her Tap and Jazz training as well as Ballet and was a member of the dance company. In the 1980's she began dancing with Buffa Hargett at Buffa's Dance Studio in Burke, Virginia. Miss Rachel was a member of Miss Buffa's Dance Company. During these years she attended Tremaine Dance Competitions & Conventions in New York City where she danced with world renowned choreographers and dancers.

After finishing High School and College, where she earned an AA in Education and a BA in Liberal and Performing Arts, Miss Rachel returned to Fauquier County and opened For A Dancer, Inc. in 1998 which celebrates its 28th Anniversary this year. Miss Rachel is continuing her education and graduated in June 2025 with her Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education.

Over the past 28 years Miss Rachel and her staff have had the pleasure of coaching amazing students who have gone on to accomplish great successes in their lives. She is so proud to hear from her alumni about all they have done and are doing.

Through the years the competition team has won top honors both regionally and nationally. At the National DanceMakers, Inc. competition in Myrtle Beach Miss Rachel was awarded the Marjorie Perry National Spirit Award for Dance Education. She has also been featured in Dance Studio Life magazine. Miss Rachel and her staff have been awarded numerous choreography and entertainment awards at various competitions. She is extremely proud of the hard work and dedication her students and coaches put in on the team and all of the dancers at the studio. Miss Rachel loves all of her students at the studio.

Miss Rachel has two beautiful and talented girls, Ashley 32 and Allyson 23, who light up her life.
